In her quest to educate people about good health practices, Mav Nong has been promoting the benefits Kangen water to South Africans.

The Witbank businesswoman has been spreading the word about what she calls a “miracle worker” in the hopes of helping people make better lifestyle choices.

Nong was first introduced to Kangen Water while on holiday in London.

“I was not interested at first as I was happy with my filter system at home and bottled water. I thought water was water. I was ever so wrong.

“I suffered migraines right through university. I went for various tests, but I could not get help. The migraines got better over the years and I had somehow got used to the pain and headaches when they would come and go, but I knew there was no solution. The painkillers would give me side effects like stomach cramps.

“I decided to give Kangen water a try. After a few weeks of drinking Kangen water daily and using it for cooking, the migraines completely went away,” said the 47-year-old.

She dedicated her time to educating people about the benefits of Kangen water.

“We are living in a time of pandemics, rare and unknown illnesses, and we’re not always able to fully take care of our bodies the way we’d like to. More women are taking on many hats as businesspeople, heads of homes, breadwinners, caregivers and have little time for themselves or making sure their health is a priority.”

Kangen means “return to origin” in Japanese. Kangen water is alkaline water (pH8-9.5), and has been used to restore the body to its original, alkaline state.

“One in every five households in Japan owns a Kangen machine. These machines don’t only transform your regular tap water into healthy, hydrating, highly antioxidant, hydrogen-rich, alkalised drinking and cooking water, but they can also produce clean water for medication and baby formula; beauty water for skin and hair care, flowers and plants, windows and mirrors and pets grooming; and strong alkaline water for migraines and hangovers, removing make-up, stains and oil/grease; as well as strong acidic water for sanitisers, disinfectants and dental care,” she said.

Nong claimed the alkaline water was better than normal water because it had a higher pH level than regular drinking water.

“Research shows that mountain water is among the most important factors for human longevity and health. In nature, water flows down mountain streams and picks up alkaline minerals from the porous rock over which it runs, increasing its pH and making it naturally alkaline. This is the healthiest water for human life, but we live in towns and cities, far from the mountains, we can’t easily access the natural, healthy water.”

She said the Kangen water devices technology mimicked the natural flow of water down the mountain streams through an ionisation and electrolysis process, which splits apart alkaline and acidic waters.

“Regular tap water goes through the device filter, runs over the platinum-coated titanium plates which cause the exchange of ions that make the water fresh, healthy, hydrogen-rich, hydrating, highly-antioxidant, alkaline, immunity-boosting, anti-inflammatory and detoxifying, without chemicals.

“With this innovative water technology, we are able to have unlimited flow of fresh alkaline water in our own homes, via this device connected to our kitchen taps, for health benefits, without spending money on bottled alkaline water which is chemically produced,” she said.
