NORTHAMPTON — Valley Community Development Corp. bought the former Northampton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at 737 Bridge Road on March 3 for $2.6 million.
The purchase is the next step in Valley CDC’s plans to turn the former nursing home, vacant since 2011, into affordable housing, Executive Director Alexis Breiteneicher said this week. The $25 million project is expected to yield 60 new apartments, a mixture of studios and one-, two- and-three bedrooms.
