Tippecanoe County reported 96 additional COVID-19 cases this week

New coronavirus cases leaped in Indiana in the week ending Sunday, rising 19.9% as 4,377 cases were reported. The previous week had 3,652 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.

Indiana ranked 33rd among the states where coronavirus was spreading the fastest on a per-person basis, a USA TODAY Network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows. In the latest week coronavirus cases in the United States decreased 16.4% from the week before, with 250,233 cases reported. With 2.02% of the country’s population, Indiana had 1.75% of the country’s cases in the last week. Across the country, eight states had more cases in the latest week than they did in the week before.

Tippecanoe County reported 96 cases and minus one deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 71 cases and three deaths. Throughout the pandemic it has reported 57,958 cases and 428 deaths.
