Confirmed statewide COVID-19 infections rose modestly last week to a seven-day average of 1,912, up from the previous week’s 1,866, as of Saturday. Davidson County’s seven-day average dropped to 210.1, down from 239.9.
The number of hospitalized patients in the state with COVID-19 remained largely flat — 405, compared to the previous week’s 408.
Tennessee’s test-positivity rate (the percentage of people getting tested who are positive for the novel coronavirus), rose modestly to 22.4%, up from the prior week’s 21.6%, according to the Tennessee Department of Health.

In Davidson County, the test-positivity rate was 22.4%, down slightly from last week’s 23%.
State public health agencies have counted nearly 2.1 million cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee since the start of the pandemic. In the state, 26,616 people have died as a result of the novel coronavirus.
About 54.9% of Tennesseans have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The national average is 66.8%.
