Confirmed COVID-19 infections continued to rise in Tennessee but have dipped in Davidson County, according to the latest state data.
As of Saturday, the seven-day average for infections in Tennessee was 1,616 — up from the previous week’s 1,500, according to the state Department of Health. Confirmed cases in Davidson County had a seven-day average of 199, continuing at least two weeks of decline, the data show.
The number of hospitalized Tennesseans with COVID-19 was 338 as of June 4, up from 273 such cases the previous week.
Tennessee’s seven-day average test-positivity rate (the rate of people who have been tested and are positive for COVID-19) was 20.66%, a jump from the previous week’s 15.27%, suggesting that infections are continuing to spread quickly throughout the state.

In Davidson County, the test-positivity rate was 20.7%, up from the previous week’s 18.5%.
State public health agencies have counted more than 2.07 million cases of COVID-19 in Tennessee since the start of the pandemic. Of those, 26,491 have died as a result of the novel coronavirus.
About 54.9% of Tennesseans have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The national average is 66.7%.
