Nine will remain the home of tennis in Australia for at least another seven years after striking a new deal with Tennis Australia.

The five-year extension is on top of the two years remaining on the existing deal, meaning Nine’s relationship with TA will run through until at least 2029.

In an announcement to the ASX, Nine boss Mike Sneesby said the deal covers exclusive rights to the Australian Open, the lead-up tournaments around the country, as well as the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup.

“We are pleased to announce the extension of the partnership between Nine and Tennis Australia,” he said.

“Tennis attracts both a broad and very passionate following, and is a perfect fit with Nine’s schedule, audiences and advertisers.”

The deal is worth approximately $85 million per year over the term of the contract.

Nine and Stan Sport is also the home of the other three major championships, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open.
