Maine CDC directors visits FEMA’s mobile vaccination site in Portland

Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah visited FEMA’s mobile vaccination unit in Portland on Saturday. The clinic has been set up behind the Rising Tide Brewery since Thursday and offers doses of the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine — no appointment necessary. “We survived the last year and if we can keep everybody healthy we’re going to have just an incredible summer so we really jumped on the opportunity to use a portion of our parking lot to give shots,” said Heather Sanborn, the co-owner of Rising Tide. Walk-ups are welcome from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sunday.
