Lenawee County is in the low community COVID-19 level, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Counties in the low category are in green, medium is marked in yellow and high is in orange. No counties in Michigan are in the high category.

ADRIAN — Lenawee County and most of Michigan are in the low community COVID-19 level, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Lenawee County reported 131 new cases and no deaths in the latest week, a USA TODAY Network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows. A week earlier, it had reported 136 cases and two deaths. Throughout the pandemic it has reported 28,837 cases and 342 deaths.

Michigan reported 12,548 new cases of coronavirus in the week ending Sunday, from 12,880 the week before of the virus that causes COVID-19.

Michigan ranked seventh among the states where coronavirus was spreading the fastest on a per-person basis. In the latest week coronavirus cases in the United States decreased 16.4% from the week before, with 250,233 cases reported. With 3% of the country’s population, Michigan had 5.01% of the country’s cases in the last week. Across the country, eight states had more cases in the latest week than they did in the week before.
