Los Angeles County public health officials reported 3,379 more cases of the coronavirus since Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,371,673 as of Thursday, Aug. 18.
Officials reported 16 more deaths linked to the coronavirus since Wednesday for a total of 32,991 deaths since tracking began.
There were 13 fewer hospitalizations reported since Wednesday, bringing the total of persons hospitalized with coronavirus to 996.
