Los Angeles County public health officials reported 1,944 more cases of the coronavirus since Thursday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,437,648 as of Friday, Sept 16.
Officials reported 16 more deaths linked to the coronavirus since Thursday for a total of 33,447 deaths since tracking began.
There were eight fewer hospitalizations since Thursday, bringing the total number of people hospitalized with coronavirus to 669.
According to the California Department of Public Health’s vaccines dashboard, 77% of Los Angeles County is fully vaccinated with 19,733,301 doses administered.
