Knox County saw seven additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday, April 15.
There has been one death and one hospitalization in Knox County during the past 37 days due to the virus. Knox County has a greater rate of vaccination that the state on average (83 percent compared to 78 percent).
Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,021 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus, 81 have been admitted to hospitals, and 34 have died.
Statewide and additional 519 cases were reported during the past day. There were no additional deaths for the second consecutive day reported statewide April 15, keeping that number at 2,276.
There were seven additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 4,626 since the pandemic began in March 2020.
The CDC reports 100 Mainers currently in the hospital, down from a record high of 436 in early January. Of the 100 hospitalized, 19 are in critical care units and four on ventilators. Sixty critical care beds are available in Maine.
