Knox County saw 14 additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Wednesday, April 27.
Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,132 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus, 83 have been admitted to hospitals, and 35 have died.
Statewide an additional 526 cases were reported during the past day. There were no additional deaths reported statewide April 27, keeping that number at 2,282.
There were 13 additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 4,696 since the pandemic began in March 2020.
The CDC reports 136 Mainers currently in the hospital. This is a jump of nearly 40 in the past week. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 136 hospitalized, 29 are in critical care units and 11 on ventilators. Sixty-nine-nine care beds are available in Maine.
