Knox County saw 11 additional COVID-19 cases during the past day, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday, July 14.
Three additional hospitalizations involving Knox County residents were reported Thursday, the first ones in six weeks.
Since the pandemic began in Maine in March 2020, 6,874 Knox County residents have been diagnosed with the virus (This does not include results from at-home tests), 94 have been admitted to hospitals, and 40 have died.
Statewide an additional 244 cases were reported during the past day. There was one additional death reported statewide July 14, increasing the number to 2,464.
There were seven additional people statewide admitted to hospitals in Maine with COVID-19 during the past day, with the number at 5,247 since the pandemic began in March 2020.
The CDC reports 115 Mainers currently in the hospital. The peak was 436 in early January. Of the 115 hospitalized, 14 are in critical care units and four on ventilators. Sixty-six critical care beds are available in Maine.
