San Diego (KUSI) – The CDC recently released new public health guidance on schools. This indicates that fully vaccinated teachers and students do not need to wear masks indoors.
Dr. Abisola Olulade of Sharp Rees Stealy joined KUSI’s Elizabeth Alvarez in Good Morning San Diego to discuss new health guidance.
Physicians have realized that while protection from COVID-19 is important, so is the mental health and education of the child.
“Therefore, what this guidance is trying to do is say that these are not the opposite concepts,” Dr. Orrard said of the new CDC guidance. “We need to bring them back to school, but we also need to protect them from COVID, which is essentially what we are trying to say,” she summarized.
Despite the CDC guidance, California schools require masks for fall classes.
