The Biden administration will provide approximately $47 million dollars to a nonprofit that provides health services to developing nations to expand access to Covid-19 and influenza vaccines.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is funding the nonprofit Task Force for Global Health to expand vaccine coverage in low and middle-income countries and help prepare for vaccine deployment in future pandemics, according to a Tuesday Federal Register notice.
“The Task Force for Global Health is uniquely qualified to support countries to plan for, implement and evaluate COVID-19 vaccination programs since they are currently working with the same risk groups using established tools and platforms under an existing cooperative agreement,” the CDC said.
The $47 million is part of a five-year total expected to reach $100 million, according to the CDC. The award period is scheduled for Sept. 30 of this year through Sept. 29, 2026.
