CDC advisors are meeting Thursday to discuss Pfizer and Moderna’s updated COVID-19 boosters, and vote on whether to recommend them to the public.
The updated shots must be authorized by the FDA and recommended by the CDC before they can be administered.
Both companies have also requested emergency use authorization from the FDA.
Pfizer sought authorization for its updated booster for people aged 12 and older. Moderna sought authorization for people aged 18 and older.
