COVID-19 remains a public health emergency of international concern. This is was the conclusion reached at the twelfth meeting of the International Health Regulations (2005) Emergency Committee held on July 8.

“The WHO Director-General concurs with the advice offered by the Committee regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and determines that the event continues to constitute a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC),” the World Health Organization said in a statement.
