As per the data released by the Health Ministry on June 8, a total of 5,233 new COVID cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours. India’s active caseload currently stands at 28,857.
In the last 24 hours COVID cases have jumped by 41%.
Majority of the cases have been reported from Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai areas. Maharashtra alone had 676 cases of COVID in the beginning of this week.
Kerala is also reporting a heavy surge in COVID cases with more than 2,271 cases on Tuesday.
450 cases were reported from Delhi.
