Beaver County reported 334 additional COVID-19 cases this week

Pennsylvania reported far fewer coronavirus cases in the week ending Sunday, adding 24,862 new cases. That’s down 16.2% from the previous week’s tally of 29,664 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.

Pennsylvania ranked 24th among the states where coronavirus was spreading the fastest on a per-person basis, a USA TODAY Network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows. In the latest week coronavirus cases in the United States increased 10.9% from the week before, with 770,895 cases reported. With 3.85% of the country’s population, Pennsylvania had 3.23% of the country’s cases in the last week. Across the country, 22 states had more cases in the latest week than they did in the week before.

Beaver County reported 334 cases and one death in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 341 cases and seven deaths. Throughout the pandemic it has reported 41,637 cases and 755 deaths.
