UNC CLEAN Received Planetary Health Report Card Results

Students involved in the Climate Leadership and Environmental Action Network at the UNC School of Medicine recently received the Planetary Health Report Card (PHRC) results for the 2021-2022 academic year, along with other medical schools around the world.

The Planetary Health Report Card (PHRC) is a student-driven, metric-based initiative to inspire planetary health and sustainable healthcare education engagement in medical schools. It’s a way to hold institutions accountable and medical students internationally can use it to grade and compare their home institutions on an annual basis. For the 2021-2022 academic year, the UNC School of Medicine improved from a “C” to a “C+” overall. Within the five categories, UNC SOM received a “C-“ in curriculum, “A-“ in interdisciplinary research, “C-“ in community outreach and advocacy, “B” in support for student-led initiatives, and “C” in campus sustainability.
