STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – With heavy weather heading toward New York City, “The Wanderers” on Thursday took on the topic of additional booster shots for those fearful of the COVID-19 virus.
Forecasters said that the five boroughs would see thunderstorms, strong winds and potential hail during the nighttime hours on Thursday before skies clear on Friday morning.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended that those age 50 and older get another booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. The news comes as the highly transmissible BA.2 virus variant is on the rise in the U.S., including in New York City.
There are so many places that make Staten Island unique.
And Advance colleague Mark Stein and I are determined to visit them all.
That’s what “The Wanderers” on Facebook Live is all about: The beautiful, unique, spooky and odd places that make Staten Island the best place to live in New York City.
We’ll also go where the news takes us on any given day, including when it comes to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
Tune in around 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and see where we pop up.
Where should we go next?
