According to new data from the CDC, suicide rates have decreased.
After increasing in previous years, the suicide rates declined by 5% from 2018 to 2020.
The latest data shows that males were three to four times more likely to commit suicide during that time, compared to females.
Both groups had lower rates in 2020, compared to 2018 and 2019.
Recent declines were shown in females over the age of 25, while rates for those aged 10-14 and 15-24 continued to increase.
For males, suicide rates for those ages 45-64 and 65-74 declined recently, while increased rates were seen among those ages 10-14, 15-24, and for those 75 and over.
