A salmonella outbreak is being linked to Citterio brand
Premium Italian-Style Salame Sticks, according to the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention.
The sticks are mainly sold at Trader Joe’s grocery stores.
According to the CDC, “nine people were interviewed about
foods they ate before getting sick, and eight reported eating or maybe eating
this product. Investigators are still working to determine if additional
products may be contaminated.”
The agency is urging anyone who bought the salame sticks to
throw them away, wash containers that may have come into contact with them and
to call a health care provider if someone is displaying symptoms of Salmonella
(diarrhea, vomiting, fever, dehydration).
