The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been studying the effectiveness of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in keeping patients out of the hospital and the group says it has shown to be 93% effective at keeping adolescents out of the hospital if they develop COVID.
The CDC said of the cases, those who did not need to be admitted to the hospital between June and September received two doses of the vaccine.
Of those patients aged 12 to 17 that were hospitalized, 97% of them were unvaccinated with 3% of patients in the hospital having received the shot.
None of the vaccinated teens, who had been admitted, though had to be admitted to an intensive care unit, according to the CDC’s data.
