Jefferson City, Mo. (KMIZ)
Salute to American events continue in Jefferson City Saturday ahead of the 4th of July holiday, and many food trucks and vendors are ready for the large crowds.
However, there is still proper food safety precautions to take as cases and positivity rates continue to rise in Missouri. As of Friday the positivity rate in Missouri hit 9.2% for the first time since Jan. 24.
For those serving food at Salute to America, the CDC said food handlers should clean kitchen counters and use a disinfectant product. Before preparing food on the kitchen counter, the CDC said you should rinse the disinfected surface with water.
Vendors and Food Trucks will make their way to High St. for the Food Court Saturday at noon. ABC 17 spoke with multiple vendors on the first day of the event, who said they are excited for a bigger event this year, since last year’s event only brought about a third of the crowd.
