Kejriwal Says Don’t Queue Up at Centres Tomorrow, Assures Everyone in Delhi Will Get Vaccines


Coronavirus News Live Updates: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Delhi hasn’t recived the vaccines yet and requested the people to not queue up at vaccination centres tomorrow as the country widens its vaccination programme to include those above 18 years from May 1. In a virtual public meeting, Kejriwal reassured that everyone will be vaccinated in Delhi and the capital will receive in the coming days.

“We’ve not received the vaccines yet, we are in constant touch with the company. We are hopeful that vaccines will reach by tomorrow or the day after. They have assured us. 3 lakh doses of Covishield is coming to us first, tomorrow or the day after,” Kejriwal said.

Delhi recorded 395 deaths due to coronavirus, the highest since the pandemic began a year ago, and 24,235 cases with a positivity rate of 32.82 per cent, the health department bulletin said. This was the eighth day in a row that Delhi has recorded over 300 deaths due to COVID-19. The number of containment zones in the city has jumped to 35,924 from 33,749 the previous day.
