Lambeau Field is set to welcome fans for Saturday’s preseason matchup between the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets.
The Packers strongly encourage game attendees to follow updated CDC guidelines, which includes wearing a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status. With the rise locally in positive cases and hospitalizations, local health officials are emphasizing that masking is an important tool to help stop the spread of COVID. Packers staff members will be wearing masks in indoor spaces on gameday, including in the club levels and in the Packers Pro Shop and Packers Hall of Fame. While game attendees are not required to wear masks, the Packers encourage fans to bring masks along to the game for use in indoor areas. Saturday’s game will celebrate youth football as the Play Football Game, with 1,000 tickets distributed to eight different Wisconsin youth football organizations. The attendees include youth teams from the Classic Youth Football League from Waukesha, MKE Dolphins from Milwaukee, Peshtigo Youth Football from Peshtigo, Southside Raiders from Madison, Great Lakes Independent Football Conference from Appleton, South Eastern Youth Football Alliance from Racine, St. Francis Xavier Football from Cross Plains and Western Kenosha County Youth Football Program. Several different youth football organizations from around Wisconsin also attended last week’s preseason game.
Fans are reminded that all tickets are mobile-only, as the Packers have transitioned to mobile tickets. Mobile tickets allow for safe, secure ticketing and help prevent fraud, while also allowing for direct and instantaneous communication between the team and the fans coming to each game. Fans are asked to arrive in plenty of time to the gate listed on their ticket and have their mobile tickets ready to be scanned, as entry may take longer than normal as fans and staff adjust to the transition to mobile tickets.
Other than parking, which is cash-only, fans should note that Lambeau Field and all of its businesses are now cashless. Those who do not have credit/debit cards or contactless payment solutions may use a cash-to-card conversion station located in the Atrium.
Fans are reminded of the stadium safety policy. No bags or purses will be allowed inside Lambeau Field unless they are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and are no larger than 12″ by 6″ by 12″. Stadium cushions are not allowed as a part of the policy, however, stadium seats and stadium pads that contain no pockets or zippers and are 18″ wide or smaller are allowed. All fans entering Lambeau Field on gamedays will use walk-through metal detectors.
The Lambeau Field parking lots will open Saturday at 11:25 a.m., with stadium gates opening at 1:25 p.m. p.m. The Atrium will be open to ticket holders at 11:25 a.m. via the American Family Insurance Gate, with no exit/re-entry ticket scanning. Ticketed and non-ticketed fans alike can visit the Johnsonville Tailgate Village, the permanent tailgating and event structure in the stadium’s east side parking lot, to enjoy live music from the band Boys Meet World, as well as food, beverages and a festive tailgating atmosphere.
Prior to the national anthem, the Packers and WPS Health Solutions will be recognizing U.S. Army and Vietnam War veteran Douglas Wirth through Operation Fan Mail on the video boards. A quartet from Milwaukee-based performance group Kids from Wisconsin will sing the national anthem, and a Coast Guard helicopter from Traverse City, Mich., will be performing a flyover.
Fans entering all stadium gates will receive magnetic game schedules, compliments of Cenex.
Also in attendance Saturday will be up to 1,000 health care workers, who received free tickets to the game in appreciation of their work during the pandemic. They’ll be recognized during halftime of the game.
