Dogs Like Hearing I Love You Too
In other more adorable heartwarming news, we have this short piece on dogs. Have you ever wondered how strong those adorable balls of judgement-free unconditional love feel about you, science may have an answer.
Four doggies were fitted with a special heart rate monitor to track what gets those tails wagging the most when they were interacting with their owners. Based on the data a dog’s heart rate can increase by 46.2% after hearing the words “I love you” from their owners. Well oh my, is that not just the sweetest thing, yes, yes it is.
Dogs may not be that far off from humans, the study also showed that cuddling the pupper will help to calm it down when it is feeling anxious or frightened, and when being cuddled the dog’s heart rate decreased by 22.7%. The cuteness factor is intensifying.
Most humans without a doubt love their pets, some even refer to them as being their furbabies. As such this study tracked the heart rate of the dog owners to find that the heart rate of the owner increased by 10.4% on average when they saw their doggo after being separated for a long period of time. D’awh.
“It’s amazing to see that our dogs’ heart rates increase when they are told they are loved, showing excitement, and decreases when having cuddles, showing contentedness,” Shannon Keary, campaign manager at Canine Cottages, said, as reported by PEOPLE Magazine. “It’s also interesting to see all the weird and wonderful ways our pets show their love for us. From this data, we can now officially say that our dogs really do love us!“
Behaviour wise when a dog begs, gives you all those repeated licks and smoochies, lets you rub their belly, jumping up and down, following you to everywhere including the toilet, little pee dribble accidents, whining, crying, pawing at you, leaning on you, going to you when you cry or are sick, not leaving your side when you are in pain, going to you when they are in pain, destroying your shoes, stealing your socks, greeting you at the door, bringing their favourite toy to you, and defending you against danger are all signs that your dogs loves you, otherwise, it would be indifferent to you, according to Canine Cottages.
A wise person once said that if all people were the good people that their dogs think they are, fulltime, the world would be a much different and better place. This is probably very true. Woo
