CDC Announces New Quarantine Guidance
Alternatives to the 14 day quarantine are now in place.
(Indianapolis, Ind.) – New quarantine rules have been set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
During a media briefing on Wednesday, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb and Dr. Kristina Box outlined the new guidance.
Quarantine can remain at 14 days, but new alternatives have been set by the CDC.
1. Quarantine can end at Day 10 if the person has not had a COVID-19 test and has not development any symptoms.
2. Quarantine can end at Day 7 if the person tests negative for COVID-19 on Day 5, 6, or 7 and no symptoms have developed.
According to the CDC, both alternative options require that the person adhere to strict practices of masking, social distancing, hand washing and watching for any symptoms through Day 14.
