This does not include the number of deaths due to Covid-19 that involved people from other states who were undergoing treatment in Delhi’s hospital, officials said. The number of new Covid-19 cases is on the rise.
On Wednesday, Delhi recorded more than 3,000 cases for the second consecutive day with 3,324 more persons testing positive for the viral infection. On Tuesday, the capital had recorded 3,036 new cases of Covid-19.
The total tally of cases recorded so far in Delhi has crossed 3.17 lakh, data shared by the government shows.
The number of daily cases recorded from October 2-12 stood below the 3,000-mark every day. “Covid-19 cases are on the rise once again. This is because of increased mobility. Also, people aren’t following measures, such as social distancing and wearing masks in public places,” say health officials.
The tally of active cases on Wednesday rose to 21,903. Data shared by the hospitals on Delhi Corona app shows that 5,144 out of 16,212 Covid beds are occupied.
