Luana Gibbs, health director for Hyde County, announced Hyde County’s second laboratory confirmed case of COVID-19 on Wednesday afternoon, June 3.

According to the Hyde County Health Department, the individual is in isolation at home and close contacts have been identified and are also quarantined.

“Though we have been fortunate to have a very small number of laboratory confirmed cases,” stated the health department’s press release, “we must not become complacent, as COVID-19 remains an extremely contagious virus.”

Gibbs reminds the public to implement and continue the three Ws: Wear, Wait, Wash.
